Fargo Police Investigate Fatal Shooting in South Fargo

Second fatal shooting reported while officers responded to separate downtown incident

At approximately 2:26 a.m. on Sunday, August 3, a report of gunshots was received in the 4700 block of 16th Avenue South.

Due to an active crime scene already underway in the 50 block of Broadway, The Fargo Police Department requested mutual aid assistance from the West Fargo Police Department for the initial response to this call for service.

Upon arrival, officers located one individual who was deceased. A perimeter was established, and The Fargo Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division is actively investigating the incident.

The name of the deceased will be released 24 hours after next of kin notification.

At this time, it is unknown whether this shooting is related to the earlier incident on Broadway. Detectives are actively working to determine any possible connection. There is no indication of an ongoing threat to the public.
