The Fargo Police Department and Fargo Fire Department are participating in the “Heroes United Blood Drive” on Thursday, June 26, from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the FARGODOME (1800 University Dr. N.). The blood drive, hosted by Vitalant, aims to recruit 80 donors to help ensure a safe blood supply during the summer.
Vitalant relies on donors every day to ensure the needs of local hospitals are met. There is no substitute for human blood, so volunteer blood donors are vital to ensure a safe blood supply for the Fargo community. Blood donations fall by about 40% during the summer months, while the need for blood increases. This blood drive will provide a critically needed resource for the Fargo community.
Vitalant encourages healthy individuals to make an appointment for the Heroes United blood drive. Donors can make an appointment to give blood by visiting donors.vitalant.org and using sponsor code: heroesunited or by calling (877)25-VITAL.
The blood donation process takes approximately one hour from check-in to refreshments. Donors can save about 20 minutes by completing their Fast Track Health History the day they donate on vitalant.org/health.
