At 6:02 p.m. on Saturday, June 14, The Fargo Police Department (FPD) responded to a report of a wanted person in 100 block of 12th St. S. When officers arrived on scene, they located and identified the individual as 44-year-old Moorhead resident, Landar Moore, who had an active warrant out of Clay County for a Probation Violation for previous convictions for Simple Robbery and Forgery. Moore fled and barricaded himself in a nearby apartment structure.
Due to the extenuating circumstances, at approximately 9:53 p.m., the Red River Valley SWAT Team assisted the FPD with serving a high-risk search warrant and safely apprehended the suspect. The suspect was located in the apartment during the search warrant. He complied with commands given by SWAT Team members and was detained at 10:19 p.m.
The SWAT Team utilized multiple Flash Sound Diversionary Devices (FSDD) to create a loud bang and bright flash of light. The FSDD is used to distract suspects, allowing officers to perform tasks that may put them in danger.
Moore, was arrested for his outstanding Clay County warrant, Criminal Trespass and Resisting Arrest and transported to the Cass County Jail.
