On Sunday, May 25, at 1:46 p.m., The Fargo Police Department was dispatched to the area of the 100 block of Maple Street North near the Red River.
A fisherman walking in Oak Grove Park near the river found an unresponsive adult male in a wooded area and called 911. FPD officers responded to the scene, and it was determined that the male was deceased. The call was initially dispatched as a water rescue given the proximity to the river, but a water rescue response was not needed.
The FPD’s Criminal Investigations Division is actively investigating this case; no further information is being released at this time. The name of the deceased individual is not being released at this time to allow for notification of the next-of-kin.
