Join Audubon Great Plains staff for an engaging story about what it takes to be an owl followed by a guided owl pellet dissection! We'll learn some of the features that make owls unique during our interactive storytime, then focus on their feeding habits and digestion before using child-friendly tools to dissect a regurgitated owl pellet. Owl pellets contain small items that the owl cannot digest from its meal: fur, bones, feathers, claws and teeth. We'll try to determine what the owl may have eaten by looking at the contents of the pellet and considering the food web. This program is geared towards kids age 7-12 years old. Space is limited and pre-registration is required. Registration begins on March 3.
