Reader's Theater is a fun activity where kids read a story aloud, but instead of acting out the whole play, they only read the parts of the characters. There are no costumes or sets, just the voices and sometimes simple movements. The focus is on reading with expression and understanding the story through the words. Kids in grades 2 through 5 will be reading from the script, so there is no need to memorize lines. Pre-registration is required and closes Tuesday, March 18, at 5 p.m.
Event schedule:
10 a.m.: Meet to get their character/role and practice
11 a.m.: Snack break
11:30 a.m.: Performance for family & friends
Possible stories include:
The Day the Crayons Quit by Drew Daywalt
The Mitten by Jan Brett
The Three Billy Goats Gruff
