Zone: South
Project: 52nd Avenue Reconstruction Project
Beginning Thursday, October 15, by 9 a.m., contractors for City of Fargo’s 52nd Avenue South roadway and infrastructure improvement project will temporarily add a 4-way stop at the intersection of 52nd Avenue and 63rd Street South. This will allow for safe installation of permanent signals in the southwest quadrant of the intersection. A portion of the southbound lane in this section will be closed and motorists will be shifted to the northbound lane. Signal operational work was extended to accommodate delays in signal pole delivery due to COVID.
In addition to permanent signal installation on Thursday, contractors will also begin resealing the eastbound bridge deck as an added measure to extend the long-term durability of the surface over time. A single lane closure will be in place for eastbound traffic starting with the north lane.
Once all traffic control is in place, motorists can expect the following traffic impacts along 52nd Avenue while crews are onsite:
- 4-way stop at the intersection of 52nd Avenue and 63rd Street South
- Single north eastbound bridge deck lane closed to traffic
- Speeds reduced where traffic control is present
Project work for both installation of permanent signals and the eastbound bridge deck sealing is expected to last for two days.
**Please remember all schedules are tentative and weather dependent.
