Zone: South
Project: 25th Street & 13th Ave S Intersection Reconstruction

Starting today, Tuesday, November 7, crews will begin to shift the traffic control on 25th Street to allow for crews to begin the installation of traffic signal bases, temporary center medians, directional signage and clean up for the roadway to enter winter suspension. This will be the last phase of project work this year and all lanes of traffic are slated to open to drivers in three weeks, weather permitting.

For drivers and pedestrians through the intersection, this means:

  • One driving lane with left-hand turning lanes will be open – motorists will shift to the outside driving lane on their respective side until winter suspension
  • Median lane will be closed to traffic
  • All business driveways: OPEN
  • One sidewalk crossing for east/west and north/south continues to be maintained.

After Thanksgiving, the project will enter winter suspension and the remaining project work will resume in spring to be complete by summer 2018. This includes the remaining phase three and phase four work to build the permanent center median and concrete pavement repairs on 25th Street South from 13th Avenue to 17th Avenue S.

This project has completed the reconstruction of the 13th Avenue and 25th Street S intersection corner by corner to improve the ride, pedestrian amenities, and safety throughout the area.

Speeds remain reduced in the work zone so drivers are reminded to slow down, eliminate distractions and pay attention to signage, as crews may be working near traffic.
