Project: North Broadway Reconstruction
On Friday, August 11, crews will move into the final stretch of blocks being reconstructed in the second Broadway North Reconstruction occurring this year. By 7 a.m., the work zone will extend the Broadway North project to the blocks between 13th and 12th Avenues N, leaving open the intersection of 13th Avenue N to cross traffic. Also on Friday, crews will reopen the 15th Avenue N and Broadway North intersection to cross traffic.
By Saturday, Aug 12, morning, the traffic pattern for the Broadway North project for the next few weeks will be:
- CLOSED: Broadway from 15th to 12th Avenues N
- LOCAL TRAFFIC ONLY: Broadway from 13th Ave. to the mid-block of 14th Ave/13th Avenue
- OPEN: Intersections of 15th Avenue N, 13th Avenue N and 12th Avenue N
- DETOUR ROUTE: 4th Street N
- SIDEWALKS: Closed through portions of the work zone for safety reasons.
Project work on the first project on Broadway North from 15th to 19th Avenues N reopened to traffic mid-July.
All new city and private underground utilities, water and sanitary sewer services have been installed on Broadway North between 15th Avenue N to mid-block of 14th Ave/13th Avenue N.
Along with continuing roadway removals in the south stretch of Broadway, next week landscaping contractors will begin to seed and mulch along Broadway North from 19th to 15th Avenues N. In the coming weeks, crews will be starting paving operations on Broadway and restoring sidewalks and driveways between 15th Avenue N to mid-block of 14th Ave/13th Avenue N.
