Zone: Downtown

Beginning Wednesday, July 12, Broadway will be closing north of Main Avenue to 7th Avenue North, as the City of Fargo prepares to host this year’s Street Fair and vendors begin booth setup. The intersections at NP Avenue, 1st Avenue North, 4th Avenue North and 6th Avenue North will remain open for through traffic during the event. Broadway will reopen late Saturday evening after the event concludes.

See map above.

The City is maximizing community resources during the Street Fair, running July 13-15, to ensure public access to this popular summer celebration is as easy as possible. With road construction projects occurring in and around the Downtown area, the City has partnered with major organizations such as the Downtown Community Partnership and MATBUS to improve transportation and parking options for the event.

LinkFM:
The fastest and easiest way for drivers to get to the Street Fair is to park and ride. The free LinkFM bus service provides convenient access between several public parking lots and the event. Fair-goers may park at the Moorhead Center Mall, hop on the bus and take a short ride to Broadway.

LinkFM has expanded hours during the Street Fair, operating between 7 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, and between 10 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. The service has also modified its route and added four more bus stops located within a block of the Street Fair. Additional buses will also be running to provide rides for passengers every five minutes.

MATBUS:
MATBUS is offering half price fares this week for all routes, with free rides system-wide on Saturday. Passengers may utilize MATBUS’ bike and bus feature, with all MATBUS vehicles equipped with bike racks to allow passengers to travel on the bus while taking their bike with them.

Parking:
For those who prefer to park and walk, there are several options. The Island Park Garage and newly-opened Roberts Commons Garage have more than 800 combined parking spots and only costs $5 per vehicle for the full day. Other City-owned lots, such as the one east of City Hall, are open and free for parking after business hours and on weekends.

Street parking is free all day and all time limit restrictions are lifted after 5 p.m. on weekdays. On Saturday, parkers will not experience any time restrictions.

Biking:
Bikers are encouraged to utilize the City’s Bike Share program, with three drop-off and pick-up locations near the Street Fair, or to park their bikes at the added racks near Great Northern Bicycle Company. Bikers can also try the new Roberts Commons Garage with its 70 bike parking spaces available in the lower level.
