Zone: South
Project: 32nd Avenue Reconstruction Project
FARGO, N.D. (July 7, 2017) – Beginning Monday morning, July 10, contractors for the 32nd Avenue Reconstruction and I-29 Bridge Project will start work on the south side intersection of 39th Street S and 32nd Ave., near Love’s Travel Stop. For approximately the next two months, weather permitting, traffic here will be reduced to southbound drivers only while crews complete intersection improvements. All northbound drivers will be detoured to 42nd Street S via 34th Avenue S.
Through the rest of next week, crews plan to continue grading and pavement removals on the east end of the work zone, finish north side paving near 36th Street S, and work on the south side bridge deck. At this time, traffic patterns through the work zone will be:
• West of 39th Street S: Side-by-side traffic carried on the new, north side pavement through the west end of the work zone, two lanes for westbound drivers and one lane for eastbound drivers, with separate turning lanes in each direction
• East of 36th St S: Side-by-side traffic carried on the new, north side lanes through the east end of the work zone, one lane in each direction with separate turn lanes
• I-29 Bridge: traffic carried on the south side, one lane of side-by-side traffic with a turn lane open in each direction
• SW I-29 Loop Ramp: Closed for improvements and paving prep, interstate access maintained via ramps on the north side of 32nd Ave.
• Intersections: 39th St. S intersection open for southbound drivers only; all other intersections open for traffic in both directions
**All schedules are tentative and weather dependent.
As a reminder, the speed limit on 32nd Ave. is reduced to 25 mph and 45 mph on I-29. Crews are working near oncoming traffic in parts of the work zone, so drivers are asked to slow down, eliminate distractions and pay attention to signage.
