"Mayor for a Day" Essay Contest
"Mayor for a Day" is an annual essay contest hosted by The City of Fargo for students in Fargo Public Schools, asking them to answer the question: What would you do if you were mayor for a day?
Mayor Dr. Tim Mahoney selects two students as the contest winners and invites them to spend the afternoon touring City Hall and visiting his office. The students are also asked to sit at the dais for a City Commission meeting where they participate in the Pledge of Allegiance and read their essays out loud.
