Seasonal Parking Restrictions to Begin Sunday, November 1

The restrictions will be actively enforced, especially during snow events; vehicles in violation may be ticketed and impounded

10/30/2026

Seasonal parking restrictions within the City of Fargo begin Sunday, November 1, 2026, and will continue through April 15, 2027. These restrictions allow City employees to efficiently remove snow and perform critical street maintenance during the winter months. Restrictions also ensure space for public safety personnel to respond to emergencies.

Seasonal restrictions limit parking to one side of designated roadways. Signs noting the restrictions are posted and apply to the area from 12th Avenue North to Interstate 94 and from the Red River to 25th Street North and South, including the Madison Neighborhood.

Reminder of enforcement change
Seasonal restrictions specific to night parking (1 a.m. to 7 a.m.) are no longer enforced in the area from 19th Avenue North to 13th Avenue South and from the Red River to 25th Street. Signs related to those restrictions have been removed; note that this change does not apply to year-round parking restrictions in Downtown Fargo. The updated ordinance took effect in November 2025. The change came after City staff reviewed the parking restrictions and determined that the seasonal restriction limiting parking to one side of the street in posted areas sufficiently supports snow removal and public safety operations.

Residents are reminded to follow all posted parking signs. Seasonal parking restrictions will be actively enforced, especially during snow events. Vehicles in violation may be ticketed and impounded by the Fargo Police Department or Public Works Department.
