During the month of October, the Fargo Public Library is hosting a rubber duck costume contest. Beginning Oct. 1, residents of all ages can stop by any library location to adopt a rubber duck (one duck per person, while supplies last). Participants are asked to decorate each duck with whatever supplies they have at home or attend one of the library’s Duck-oration Drop-in events and the library will supply all of the craft materials. Rubber duck decorating events are set for the following dates, times and locations:
• Thursday, Oct. 1, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the downtown Main Library
• Saturday, Oct. 10, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Dr. James Carlson Library
Decorated ducks must be returned to the library by Friday, Oct. 23, to be included in the competition. Please note that late submissions will not be accepted. Ducks will be on display at the downtown Main Library. Public voting will take place from October 28 through November 6 at all three library locations. One vote per person, per visit. Winners will be determined by popular vote, and winners will be announced during the week of November 9. Entries will be on display at the downtown Main Library. Contest rules are available at fargolibrary.org. For further details contact the Children’s Services Department at 701.241.1495 or email Kids@fargolibrary.org.
Fargo Public Library events are free and open to the public; adults must accompany children ages 9 and younger.
