Contractors for the 32nd Avenue South Reconstruction Project are scheduled to open the intersection of 15th Street South and 32nd Avenue South on Monday, Aug. 10.
With the 15th Street South intersection open, the intersection of University Drive South and 32nd Avenue South is scheduled to close on Monday, Aug. 10, as construction continues in Phase 2 of Segment 3 of the 32nd Avenue South Reconstruction Project. The closure will last approximately one month.
University Drive South intersection closure impact:
The intersection of University Drive South and 32nd Avenue South will be closed to all traffic. Northbound and southbound traffic on University Drive will be detoured west to 15th Street South to travel around the closure. All local businesses and properties will remain accessible. Pedestrian access will be maintained on at least one side of the street at all times.
Traffic and pedestrian impacts:
• The 15th Street South and 32nd Avenue South intersection is set to open Monday, Aug. 10.
• The University Drive South and 32nd Avenue South intersection is set to close Monday, Aug. 10.
• 32nd Avenue South between 15th Street South and University Drive South is closed as part of Phase 2.
• 32nd Avenue South between 11th Street South and the Red River is open as Phase 1 is complete.
• There are two options for pedestrians to cross University Drive South:
o 35th Avenue South
o 30th Avenue South
• The following detours are in effect:
o University Drive traffic is detoured via 15th Street South.
o Eastbound 32nd Avenue South traffic is detoured via 35th Avenue South.
o Westbound 32nd Avenue South traffic is detoured via 30th Avenue South.
More about the project:
Segment 3 is the last segment of the 32nd Avenue South Reconstruction Project, which began in April 2023. This important project will improve critical underground infrastructure and transportation efficiency throughout the corridor.
