As we continue to mark our country’s 250th birthday, the Fargo Public Library will host a presentation featuring Theodore Roosevelt, the 26th president of the United States, as performed by John Dobmeier in a Chautauqua-style performance on Thursday, Aug. 13, at 6:30 p.m. at the downtown Main Library. Titled “Teddy’s Tales,” this interactive, educational, living history event focused on Theodore Roosevelt’s time in North Dakota is appropriate for all ages. Dobmeier, a noted Theodore Roosevelt re-enactor, is a regular contributor to the Badlands Chautauqua in Medora, and last year performed at Sagamore Hill in Long Island, New York.
This event is part of the Fargo Public Library’s free 2026 Summer Reading Challenge that runs through August 15. This all-ages program offers a summer filled with stories, weekly special events, performances and activities for kids, teens and adults. Anyone can participate by reading, attending events and completing challenges. The Fargo Public Library’s Summer Reading Challenge is sponsored in part by the Friends of the Fargo Public Library.
