The City of Fargo invites community members to attend a public open house recognizing Mayor Dr. Tim Mahoney as he concludes his final term as mayor.
The event will take place Friday, June 26, from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. in City Commission Chambers in Fargo City Hall, 225 4th St. N. Residents, community partners and City employees are welcome to attend. Guests are invited to stop in throughout the afternoon to visit with Mayor Mahoney and enjoy refreshments and treats. A recognition program featuring remarks from community leaders will begin at 1 p.m.
Mayor Mahoney’s service to the City of Fargo spans more than 20 years. He was first elected to the City Commission in 2005, and he was first elected mayor in 2015. He leaves office on June 30, 2026, having reached his term limit.
“Throughout his tenure, Mayor Mahoney helped guide Fargo through periods of significant growth and change while supporting initiatives that strengthened City services, expanded opportunities and enhanced quality of life for residents,” City Administrator Michael Redlinger said. “As Mayor Mahoney prepares to leave office, the open house provides a time for the community to gather, reflect on his years of service and offer their thanks for his leadership and dedication to the City of Fargo.”
