Residents submitted more than 200 creative entries in Fargo’s “Name a Garbage Truck” Contest, bringing community spirit and fun to the City’s garbage truck fleet. Fargo’s Solid Waste Department and Deputy Mayor Denise Kolpack, the department’s liaison to the City Commission, reviewed the entries and selected 10 finalists based on creativity, originality and overall appeal. Residents then voted online for their favorites. The three winning names are now displayed on Fargo garbage trucks:
• Trashasaurus Rex
• Bin Diesel
• Truck Norris
“The contest was designed to encourage community involvement and highlight the vital work of Fargo’s Solid Waste Department in a fun and engaging way,” said Solid Waste Director Scott Olson. “We appreciate everyone who submitted entries and took part in the online voting. Your creativity and participation made this project a real success.”
Residents who submitted winning names have been notified. Winners will receive Fargo gear and will have the opportunity to be featured in a video shared on the City’s social media channels.
