Fargo Police Investigating Fatal Shooting in 2700 block of 41st Street South

An adult male victim was transported to a local medical facility, where he was pronounced deceased

UPDATE:
On Tuesday, October 28, at approximately 10:46 a.m., Levi Larteh (26-year-old Fargo resident) was arrested at a gas station in Barnesville, Minnesota, by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office in relation to the homicide that occurred last night in Fargo, North Dakota. The arrest was made very shortly after probable cause was established for his arrest. Larteh was booked into the Clay County Jail with a charge of Murder.

The Fargo Police Department has worked very hard to gather evidence, identify persons of interest, gather witness statements and ultimately develop probable cause to make an arrest in this case. This has been a collaborative effort across all divisions within the FPD, as well as our regional partners. We would like to thank the Clay County Sheriff’s Office and the Barnesville Police Department for their help in this case which led to the arrest of Larteh.

This remains an active investigation, and no further details are available at this time.


At approximately 9:27 p.m. on Monday, October 27, Fargo Police officers responded to a report of a shooting at an apartment complex in the 2700 block of 41st Street South. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim who had an apparent gunshot wound. The individual was transported to a local medical facility, where he was pronounced deceased at 10:15 p.m.

The Fargo Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division is actively investigating the incident. Preliminary information suggests that the victim and the suspect were known to one another. Detectives and investigators remain on scene and are working diligently to gather evidence and interview witnesses.
