The Fargo Police Department will hold a news conference at 2 p.m. today (Aug. 4, 2025) in Gateway Commons at FPD Headquarters (105 25th St. N.) to provide updates on its ongoing investigations into two separate shootings that occurred in the early hours of Sunday, Aug. 3.
The FPD has identified the individuals who were fatally shot:
• In the shooting reported at 1:56 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 3, in the 50 block of Broadway North, investigators have identified the deceased individual as Azeem Holmes, a 19-year-old Fargo resident.
• In the shooting reported at 2:26 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 3, in the 4700 block of 16th Avenue South, investigators have identified the deceased individual as Elijah Hughes, a 20-year-old Fargo resident.
The Fargo Police Department, with the assistance of partner agencies, is deploying all available resources to investigate both shootings. The FPD continues to seek the public’s help in locating Tyrque Jones, a 20-year-old Fargo resident, who has an open warrant for his arrest for the murder that occurred in the 50 block of Broadway North. Anyone with information regarding Jones’ whereabouts or information related to either shooting is encouraged to contact The Fargo Police Department at 701.241.5777.
