Spend quality time sharing stories, learning school-readiness skills, and preparing your child for a lifetime of reading at storytime! Through the use of age-appropriate stories, songs, and fingerplays in a group setting, staff help you learn how to foster early literacy skills that prepare your children to learn to read. Family Storytimes are for children ages 18 months to 6 years. Pre-registration is required. Register online or call Children's Services at 701.241.1495.
Registration for the Fall 2019 Storytime session (Sept. 9 - Dec. 11) begins Aug. 1, 2019.
During the family storytime sessions, parents/guardians of younger children (18 months to 3 years) are parents/guardians are required to sit with their children in the storytime area. Parents of older children (4 to 6 years) are required to remain in the library building; they are not required to sit with their children the entire time and may browse the collection if the children are comfortable with the parent doing so. Family Storytimes are generally 30 minutes in length.
Large group space is limited. Daycares or other groups of five or more children need to call Children’s Services at 701.241.1495 to register.
Be sure to pick up a Storytime Punch Card. Children who attend 10 storytimes earn a free book!

Please note that all storytimes start promptly on schedule. Be sure to allow extra time for parking and getting nametags.
Please honor age limits for each storytime.
Please refrain from bringing food and beverage into storytime.
If children in your care become disruptive, please remove them until they are comfortable and ready to listen.
