Pulse Point Mobile App
The Pulse Point phone application supports the department's HeartSafe Fargo community risk reduction program. People who are trained in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) can download this app to their phone to receive notifications when they are near someone who needs CPR.
The person receiving this notification can provide CPR until emergency personnel arrive. The app also illustrates nearby automatic external defibrillators (AED) so that the citizen responding to the CPR notification can apply an AED.
Providing CPR and applying an AED early have been shown to significantly increase the a person's chances of surviving a full arrest.
