Are you an up-and-coming, recreational photographer? The Fargo Public Library is seeking submissions for its fifth annual Northern Focus photography project; the project is open to adults and teens, age 13 and older. Submissions will be accepted online only from April 1 through May 31, 2024 at https://fargolibrary.wufoo.com/forms/northern-focus-2024. A link to the official rules, information, and guidelines for the project are available on the library’s Northern Narratives and Northern Focus webpage. For more information about the Northern Focus photography project, contact Nicole H. at 701.476.5974 or call the Main Library Information Desk at 701.241.1492.

All entries will be included in a photo exhibit at the downtown Main Library in the fall. Photographs selected as honorable mentions will be specially featured, and one photo will be selected as the cover art for the library’s 2024 “Northern Narratives” publication.

All photos must be taken regionally (within ND/MN) and convey a sense of the people, places and/or happenings that make up the diverse community and region. There is no fee to enter; however, those submitting a photo must certify they are the author and copyright holder of the photo. It is the artist’s responsibility to obtain releases from their subjects. All submissions must be an original photograph and must be taken by the person submitting. Submitted photos must be suitable for public display and community viewing as determined by the library. Obscene, provocative or otherwise questionable content will not be considered.

This project is supported by the Friends of the Fargo Public Library.
