Fire Damages Home

At 4:18 p.m. today, the Fargo Fire Department responded to a reported house fire at 5128 8th Ave S. in Fargo. Before the first units arrived on scene, we received information that all residents were out of the house. A first arriving police officer indicated there was a fire on the backside exterior of the house. The first fire crew stretched a hose line to the back of the home and were able to extinguish the fire from the outside. The fire was controlled by 4:29 p.m.

At 4:18 p.m. today, the Fargo Fire Department responded to a reported house fire at 5128 8th Ave S. in Fargo. Before the first units arrived on scene, we received information that all residents were out of the house. A first arriving police officer indicated there was a fire on the backside exterior of the house. The first fire crew stretched a hose line to the back of the home and were able to extinguish the fire from the outside. The fire was controlled by 4:29 p.m.

Additional crews entered the interior of the home to investigate whether the fire had extended inside. No additional fire spots were located.

A neighbor was the first one to discover the fire and quickly called 911 and alerted the residents to get out of the home.

There were no civilian or firefighter injuries from this fire. Damage is estimated at $15,000.

The Fargo Fire Department responded with 18 personnel on 4 engines, 1 truck, 1 command vehicle and 1 fire investigator. The Fargo Police Department and FM Ambulance also responded and assisted Fargo Fire.

The Fargo Fire Department would like to remind everyone to call 911 immediately at the first sign of a fire. The quicker we can respond, the faster we can extinguish the fire and minimize damages.
