MATBUS, in partnership with First Transit, are inviting media and prospective drivers to take part in a driver hiring event Thursday, October 18 from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. located at the MATBUS Transportation Center, 502 NP Avenue.
First Transit trainers and recruiters will be onsite to educate prospective applicants, answer questions and accept driver applications during the event. Event activities include media and prospective applicants boarding a MATBUS, reviewing the procedures for bus operation and will learn about safety features.
MATBUS and First Transit are hiring qualified applicants to serve the communities including Fargo, West Fargo, Moorhead and Dilworth. MATBUS transports more than 8,000 passengers every day with 24 fixed-routes, connecting people to jobs, healthcare, education and leisure activities.
Prospective drivers for MATBUS and First Transit must be:
- At least 21 years of age
- Able to pass all background checks and drug screens
- Have at least three years of driving experience
- Possess a valid state driver’s license
First Transit will provide all necessary training and assistance with the application for a commercial driver license (CDL).
First Transit offers paid training and a starting wage of $14.70 per hour, including medical and dental plus a 401(k), and a sign-on bonus of up to $2,500.
