Fire Department Graduating Four Firefighters


On Friday, June 29th at 11:00 a.m. at the Public Safety Building, 4630 15th Ave North in Fargo, the Fargo Fire Department will hold a graduation ceremony for four firefighter recruits. The recruits were hired on May 14th and have spent the last seven weeks in an intensive training program. Some of the topics covered during the last seven weeks include: structural firefighting, fire prevention, search and rescue, vehicle extrication, building construction, fire behavior, hazardous materials operations, emergency medical operations, safety, and water rescue.

Each of the recruits successfully passed several certification tests for firefighter and hazardous materials. They will spend the next ten months as probationary firefighters, completing tasks and certification tests during on the job training. During this time, they will also become certified emergency medical technicians.

The Fargo Fire Department is excited to welcome these four individuals into our department family with a graduation ceremony on Friday. During the ceremony, they will receive their fire department badges, helmet shields and take the oath of office.
