Red River Valley SWAT Assists The Fargo Police Department with Incident Involving Suicidal Male

Collaborated efforts results peaceful resolution

At 6:17 p.m. on Wednesday, February 1, The Fargo Police Department responded to a report of a suicidal 23-year old male who barricaded himself in a residence in the 3800 block of 21st St. S. It was reported that the individual fired a round and pointed a gun at individuals that were known to him inside the residence.

The FPD requested the assistance of the Red River Valley SWAT Team to help with negotiations and tactical strategies. Through a collaborated effort, the incident came to a peaceful resolution at approximately 12:15 a.m. on Thursday, February 2.

The suspect was transported to a local health care facility for evaluation. The shelter in place has been lifted. No injuries resulted from this operation.
