Beginning September 1, CodeRED will be discontinued in Cass and Clay Counties and replaced with Cass Clay Alerts, a new mass notification system powered by Everbridge. Residents are encouraged to register online at CassClayAlerts.gov before September 1 to receive alerts. Residents who do not have an internet-connected device or need help registering can call FirstLink for assistance. Those previously signed up for CodeRED need to re-register for a Cass Clay Alerts account in order continue to receive local emergency alerts.
Fargo Cass Public Health reminds the community of the importance of routine immunizations as students return to school. Appointments for immunizations can be made by calling Fargo Cass Public Health. The Fargo Public Library’s all ages summer reading program “Imagine Your Story” continues through August 15 and provides opportunities for reading and winning prizes. A virtual snack-making class for kids featuring “Dirt and Worms” (pudding, cookies and gummy worms) will screen Tuesday, August 11 at 10 a.m. on the Library’s Facebook page. The Library’s Book Bike was featured as part of Book Bike Week, an event sponsored recently by the Association of Bookmobile and Outreach Services. This online event featured book bikes of all types from around the country demonstrating how libraries are reaching their communities outside the walls of the library.
Tonight’s agenda features new defined clarifications as to which items are available for public comment. This is an effort to foster additional dialogue opportunities with the residents of Fargo. Each person will have two and a half minutes for comments; this ensures other residents will have an opportunity to comment in a timely manner. Only one person may use the podium at a time and you will need to state your full name for purposes of the meeting minutes. We ask that you sign up on the sheet that is on the back table with our staff. Residents will be called to the podium in the order of the registration sheet. When signing up for the comment period, please provide a phone number and/or email address so a City representative is able to contact you to further address your concerns if needed. The comment period is intended for listening and learning purposes; there will be no Commission comment or action. Inappropriate or inflammatory language will not be allowed.
