The Mayor's Message - 04.20.2020

Tonight represents a landmark for public meetings at the City of Fargo, as all of the Team Fargo staff members will be appearing virtually, from outside of the commission chambers. This is another step forward in the advancement of our state-of-the-art facilities.

Since mid-March, Fargo Cass Public Health efforts have been laser focused on responding to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, health staff continue to provide excellent services to support our community, including:

  • Public Health Nursing
  • Correctional health
  • Harm Reduction & Gladys Ray Shelter
  • WIC - Women, Infants & Children Nutrition Program
  • Family Planning Clinic
  • Environmental Health
  • Employee Health
  • Health Promotion

The Fargo Police Department has received some questions from the public as to whether or not they will reduce responses to certain calls for service. Chief Todd has assured me his officers will continue responding and offering top-notch services to the community. The Fargo PD is taking precautions to keep themselves and the community safe, such as keeping people six (6) feet away when gathering information at a scene and utilizing appropriate safety equipment, including masks and safety glasses.

It is National Library Week and this year’s theme is “Find the Library at your Place.” It’s important to remember, even as facilities remain closed to the public, the Fargo Public Library is open for business online, providing the virtual services and digital content their communities need more than ever. You can access eBooks, movies, music, video games, virtual story times and activities, and so much more — all from the comfort of your home. Visit Fargo Library dot O-R-G to learn more.
