Mayoral Proclamation - Cameron Bolton Day - April 17

I, Timothy J. Mahoney, Mayor of the CIty of Fargo, do hereby proclaim

  • WHEREAS, Cameron Bolton, son of Chris Bolton and Sarah Fisher and a graduate of NDSCS Fargo, died on July 2. 2018 from injuries suffered in a car accident; and

  • WHEREAS, Cameron became an organ donor and his heart, liver, kidneys and corneas were donated to five individuals and his tissue, bones and ligaments will continue to impact many more lives; and

  • WHEREAS, One donor can heal more than 75 lives and without Cameron giving the gift of life, many people would not have a new beginning; and

  • WHEREAS, Crosses are mailed out all over the world through Crosses for Cameron, which was created to provide comfort and peace for those who have experienced extreme loss and to help them move forward in their grieving process; and

  • WHEREAS, Cameron’s family and friends have raised funds for the Haiti Eye Mission, held blood drives in his honor to emphasize living donors, and cookies and pay-it-forward cards are distributed every month to promote kindness in honor of Cameron.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That I, Timothy J. Mahoney, Mayor of the City of Fargo, North Dakota, do hereby proclaim April 17, 2020 as

CAMERON BOLTON DAY

in the City of Fargo and call upon all citizens to consider organ, eye and tissue donation and to celebrate those who have saved lives through the gift of donation.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the City of Fargo, North Dakota to be affixed this 17th day of April, 2020.
