Zone: South
Project: 52nd Avenue Reconstruction Project

Weather permitting, Thursday, July 25, by 8 a.m. crews will reopen the 52nd Avenue and 63rd Street South intersection. Portions of the intersection have been completed which will allow northbound or southbound traffic on 63rd Street to cross 52nd Avenue South.

Construction is still active to the west of 63rd Street and is slated to open to one driving lane in each direction around mid-August. Construction will continue east of 63rd Street for the remainder of the construction season and will result in the closure of 52nd Avenue South between 63rd Street and Veterans Boulevard in the upcoming weeks.

This week crews are working on paving operations between west of the Drain 27 bridge through the Veterans Boulevard intersection. Two eastbound lanes will be poured today through tomorrow and crews will begin work on the westbound lanes Friday, weather permitting.

No other traffic control will change for residential and business access to the west of Veterans Blvd. Drivers will continue to use the temporary bypass road at Veterans Blvd to access the mainline of 52nd Avenue South and travel west to 53rd Avenue South. The 53rd Street South intersection remains open as gravel to maintain business and residential access during work in this area.

**Please remember all schedules are tentative and weather dependent.
