To celebrate National Model Railroad month in November, the library will host the Red River Modules Model Railroad Club at the downtown Main Library on Saturday, Nov. 17, and Sunday, Nov. 18. The club will display and demonstrate model trains in the library’s community room from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, and from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18. Club members will be on hand to answer questions about the trains, the display and the hobby of modular railroading, which combines modular trains and miniature scenery to make unique track configurations. Other train-themed events are planned on Saturday including a train-themed storytime at 11 a.m., and an all ages presentation on railroad safety at 11:30 a.m. by a representative from Operation Lifesaver of the Dakotas. Youngsters can also make a train-themed craft throughout the weekend.

Fargo Public Library events are free and open to the public. Children age 9 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. For more information about the Fargo Public Library and a complete list of upcoming events, call 701.241.1472 or visit www.fargolibrary.org.
