Beginning Monday, May 14, the Water Mains & Hydrants Department, in conjunction with Fargo Fire, will begin flushing fire hydrants. Flushing is a vital process in maintaining the city’s water distribution system. The city will begin flushing in the area from 13th Avenue South to 21st Avenue South from the Red River to University Drive South. They will continue to progress through the south side for the next four weeks.
Residents in these areas may notice temporary discoloration or odor in the water. If this happens, continue to flush water inside your home for a short time; this should alleviate any problems. If issues persist, contact Mains & Hydrants at 701.241.1453.
