Fire Department Graduating Five Firefighters

Friday, November 3 at 11:00 a.m. the Fargo Fire Department will hold a graduation ceremony for five firefighter recruits.

Friday, November 3 at 11:00 a.m. at the Public Safety Building, 4630 15th Avenue North in Fargo, the Fargo Fire Department will hold a graduation ceremony for five firefighter recruits. The recruits were hired on September 11th and have spent the last eight weeks in an intensive training program. Some of the topics covered during the last eight weeks include: structural firefighting, fire prevention, search and rescue, vehicle extrication, building construction, fire behavior, hazardous materials operations, emergency medical operations, safety, and water rescue.

Each of the recruits successfully passed several certification tests for firefighter and hazardous materials. They will spend the next ten months as probationary firefighters, completing tasks and certification tests during on the job training. During this time, they will also become certified emergency medical technicians.

The Fargo Fire Department is excited to welcome these five individuals into our department family with a graduation ceremony today. During the ceremony, they will receive their fire department badges and take the oath of office.
