Hale is the author/illustrator of the children’s book, Bad Monkey Business, a Spark Award winner from the Society of Children's Book Writers & Illustrators (SCBWI) which recognizes excellence in children’s books published through an independent or non-traditional route. He has also illustrated three other children’s books. This presentation will cover the basic preparation, soul searching, and math that should be done before a writer or writer/illustrator decides to take this path. Helpful hand-outs and worksheets will be available for participants who may decide to move forward. Join us at the Main Library on Saturday, January 18, at 2 p.m. for this event, held in partnership with the SCBWI Dakotas chapter. Hale’s children’s books will also be available to purchase.
