Contractors for the City of Fargo Engineering Department’s sewer project have completed the needed emergency repair and achieved the designed strength of the new concrete slab on the roadway, allowing the roadway to fully open for motorists. This means that traffic is being routed back to Main Avenue and detours removed off 1st Avenue N/S for trucks and cars between University Drive and 14th Street S.
This closure of Main Avenue was needed to repair a section of the City sewer system before further damage to both the road and infrastructure systems occurred.
