Project: 25th Street & 13th Ave S Intersection Reconstruction
Beginning mid-morning tomorrow, Tuesday, September 19, after rush hour has wrapped up crews will begin to move the traffic control into the next phase at the intersection of 25th Street and 13th Avenue South, which focuses on reconstructing the entire intersection corner by corner. The intersection will not full close to traffic.
Crews will begin work on the second phase and begin removing the first intersection corner (northwest quadrant by Wells Fargo) tomorrow. One lane of traffic with turning lanes in each direction will be maintained through the work zone. After the first corner is complete the project work will then move clockwise to each corner of the intersection.
Traffic pattern for drivers north of the intersection:
- One driving lane with left-hand turning lanes will be open – motorists will shift to side by side driving lanes on the north side of the intersection
- Southbound truck traffic will be prohibited from turning right to enter westbound 13th Avenue S traffic at the intersection
Traffic pattern for drivers south of the intersection:
- One driving lane with left-hand turning lanes will be open – motorists will shift to the outside driving lane on their respective side during removals
- Median lane will be closed to traffic
At times certain traffic movements will be limited to right-in and right-out in the zone to help with traffic flow out of business driveways in the intersection.
One sidewalk crossing for east/west and north/south will be maintained. At times stretches will be closed to accommodate the work occurring in the corner.
**Please remember all schedules are tentative and weather dependent.
Speeds are reduced in the work zone so drivers are reminded to slow down, eliminate distractions and pay attention to signage, as crews may be working near traffic.
The concrete pavement repair project (phase 4) on 25th Street S from the intersection to 17th Avenue S will be complete by spring 2018.
