The temporary parking lot instituted during the City Hall construction project and located between the Main Library and the Civic Center will permanently close at 9 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 15, to allow work to commence on Phase I of the Fargo Civic Plaza and the eventual placement of the “Sodbuster” sculpture. Crews will begin zone assembly on Friday, Aug. 16, in preparation for project kickoff on Monday, Aug. 19. A public viewing area to observe work on the project will be established and detailed next week in a City news release.

Fargo Public Library and City Hall patrons are encouraged to use the east parking lot (east of the Library and south of the new City Hall along 3rd St. North). Both the east and west entrances of the Main Library will be accessible throughout the duration of the project. The contractor will have staff on site to mitigate pedestrian impacts, ensuring ample connections to 4th Street North and the east City Hall/Library parking lot.

An additional permanent parking lot is being constructed on the west side of the new City Hall, which will facilitate parking for an additional 28 vehicles. The new lot will be completed this fall.
