Residents Encouraged to Apply to Serve on Fargo’s Board of Adjustment

The City of Fargo currently has one opening for an alternate member on its Board of Adjustment. Residents are encouraged to apply for appointment by visiting http://www.FargoND.gov/gettinginvolved.

Applications will begin to be reviewed on July 25 and applying before that date is strongly encouraged and appreciated.

Name of Board: Board of Adjustment

Opening(s): One (1) Alternate Member

Meeting Logistics: Fourth Tuesday of each month at 9 a.m. in the City Commission Room, Fargo City Hall.

Average Time Commitment: One to two (1-2) hours per month

Responsibilities:

  1. Evaluates zoning variance applications in regards to the established criteria of Section 20-0914 of the Fargo Municipal Code (Land Development Code).

  2. Evaluates flood-proof construction variance applications in regards to the established criteria of Section 21-0603 of the Fargo Municipal Code (Floodproofing Code).

  3. Evaluates Appeal of Administrative Decisions application requests in regards to the established criteria of Section 20-0916 of the Fargo Municipal Code (Land Development Code).

In addition to these openings, residents are encouraged to research and apply for appointment to any of the boards, commissions and committees for consideration in the event of future vacancies.
