The Plastic Bag Task Force has invited local fifth grade students from Fargo, West Fargo and Moorhead to participate in a plastic bag recycling challenge to promote the recycling of plastic bags within the metro community. As members of the Plastic Bag Task Force, the City of Fargo and Clay County have partnered to make this challenge possible.
During the challenge, running from February 1 through March 28, students are encouraged to bring extra plastic bags from home to their school. These bags will then be recycled. Content winners will be announced during Earth Week, which runs from April 22 to April 26, 2019.
The school collecting the most plastic bags will receive a bench made from composite lumber for the school. The second place school will receive a pizza party for their efforts. Each student will also receive a cloth reusable bag donated by Gate City Bank.
