Complimentary shuttle service is now available for passengers utilizing the Long-term and Economy parking lots at Hector International Airport. Parking services provider SP+ launched the seasonal service today and will offer shuttle bus service daily from 6 a.m.- 8 p.m. through March 31, 2019.
“We’re pleased SP+ is able to provide this additional service for passengers who choose to park at the airport when they are traveling,” says Shawn Dobberstein, executive director of the Municipal Airport Authority. “At no cost to the airport or the passenger, it’s certainly a cost-effective solution for travelers who would rather not walk from their vehicle to the airport terminal during the winter months.”
The 12-person, single shuttle will pick up travelers in the Long-term and Economy parking lots and provide them with front-door service to the airport terminal. A shuttle pick-up/drop-off point will be located outside baggage claim at the farthest west end of the terminal. There will be no set pick-up points within the designated lots. Instead, the shuttle will deliver passengers directly to and from their vehicles or any point they choose between the parking lot and terminal. “Buddy Cards” will be available on the shuttle for travelers to record their vehicle location for reference upon their return. There is no charge for the shuttle service, and drivers will not solicit tips.
“The new shuttle service is one component of our plan to continuously improve the Fargo passenger experience by providing a comfortable means for traveling to-and-from their destination,” added Jason Finch, Senior Vice President of West Operations for SP+.
SP+ plans to provide the service again next winter beginning Dec. 15, 2019 through March 31, 2020.
