Fargo Fire Department Responds to a Garage Fire

At approximately 4:40 p.m. this afternoon, Sunday, May6th, the Fargo Fire Department responded to a fire in a residential garage at 1036 16th St. N. Neighbors noticed smoke coming from a residential garage and called 9-1-1.

At approximately 4:40 p.m. this afternoon, Sunday, May6th, the Fargo Fire Department responded to a fire in a residential garage at 1036 16th St. N. Neighbors noticed smoke coming from a residential garage and called 9-1-1.

When fire crews arrived at the scene they found visible smoke and flames coming from the roof area of the garage. Fire crews extinguished the fire shortly after they arrived at the scene. The garage was unoccupied and detached from the residence. No one was injured. The residence was also unoccupied. The cause of the fire is currently being investigated.

The Fargo Fire Department responded with 16 personnel on four engines, one truck, and one command vehicle. Fargo Police and FM Ambulance also responded to the fire and assisted.

The Fargo Fire Department would like to remind everyone that garage fires tend to spread faster than fires in other areas of the home. If you see a fire, leave the building and call 9-1-1.
