At 11:05 a.m. Tuesday morning, the Fargo Fire Department responded to a report of smoke coming from under a door to an apartment at 101 2nd St. S.
On arrival, the crew forced open the door to the apartment and found smoke throughout. The crew entered into the apartment and found one victim in the living room. They quickly removed the victim and extinguished a small fire in the bathroom. Other apparatus arriving on scene assisted with searching for other possible victims and removing smoke from the building. FM Ambulance treated the patient on scene and transported them to Essentia hospital. At this time, the condition of the victim is unknown.
The fire damaged a small appliance in the bathroom along with light smoke damage in the rest of the apartment.
Fargo Fire Department responded with 16 people on four engines, a truck company, and one command vehicle. Fargo Police Department and FM Ambulance provided assistance.
