The building is being demolished to clean up the site of a manufactured gas plant that operated from 1885 until 1960. Xcel Energy has been gracious to allow the fire and police departments to use the site for some training exercises. Once training is complete, there will be several contractors on site. If there are questions related to the demolition or clean up, Xcel Energy has a project phone number of 701.205.5701.
