Fargo firefighters responded to a report of a garage fire located behind 812 7th St S. Upon arrival firefighters encountered heavy fire conditions in the detached two-story garage. There were no injuries as a result of the fire and firefighters had the fire under control within 15 minutes after arrival.
The fire started due to welding operations being done and is considered to be accidental. A damage assessment was not immediately available but the garage is considered to be a total loss. Two vehicles were also damaged in the fire. Quick actions by on scene firefighters prevented the fire form extending to a building ten feet away.
The Fargo Fire Department advises an appropriate fire extinguisher be on hand during welding operations and to notify 9-1-1 immediately in the event of a fire.
