City Commission Seeks Interested Residents to Serve on the Fargo Special Assessment Task Force

The City Commission is seeking six Fargo residents to serve on the newly-formed Fargo Special Assessment Task

The City Commission is seeking six Fargo residents to serve on the newly-formed Fargo Special Assessment Task Force. Interested residents are encouraged to contact the Fargo City Commission office at 701.241.1310 or email the City Commission Office to submit their name for consideration. The deadline for submissions is 4 p.m. on August 15.

Other members of the 13-member task force will include representatives from the FM Home Builders Association, FM Realtor Association, a mortgage lending industry expert, a developer, a Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber of Commerce business representative and two non-voting City commissioners. All members of the task force will be appointed by Mayor Tim Mahoney.

The task force will review the history of special assessments in Fargo, including current and past funding methodology. It will also review and recommend innovative financing options. The task force’s recommendations will be forwarded to the City Commission in December.
