Mayoral Proclamation - World Wish Month - 04.01.2015

WHEREAS, Make-A-Wish North Dakota is celebrating 30 years of wishes; and

WHEREAS, Make-A-Wish North Dakota is a non-profit organization solely dedicated to granting wishes to children ages two and a half to 18 years old with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy; and

WHEREAS, Make-A-Wish North Dakota has granted over 700 heartfelt wishes to North Dakota children since 1985; and

WHEREAS, The greatness of North Dakota lies in the heart and generosity of our people; and

WHEREAS, Make-A-Wish North Dakota depends on referrals and volunteers across the state to realize its vision to reach every eligible child and make their wishes come true; and

WHEREAS, Wish kids and their families inspire us all with their life-affirming stories many of which can be found on the Make-A-Wish North Dakota website www.northdakota.wish.org.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That I, Timothy J. Mahoney, Mayor of the City of Fargo, do hereby proclaim April, 2015 as World Wish Month in the City of Fargo, North Dakota.
