WHEREAS, Executive Director of the Fargo Blues Fest and long time Fargo resident Dan Bredell founded Mother’s Records, in Fargo in 1970; and
-
WHEREAS, Dan Bredell, has been featured twice on Dan Akroyd's House of Blues Show and has been on the cover of Billboard magazine as an inspiration that music should be accessible to all; and
-
WHEREAS, Dan Bredell holds the record for the largest outdoor attendance for a music festival in North Dakota - Dakota Jam; and
-
WHEREAS, Dan Bredell and his sons have sponsored the Fargo Blues Fest for 20 years despite all obstacles; and
-
WHEREAS, Dan Bredell not only brings top artists to town, he aspires local musicians to further their talents by featuring them at the festival; and
-
WHEREAS, The Fargo Blues Fest brings music appreciation to our City and is considered one of the best musical festivals in the country; and
-
WHEREAS, Dan Bredell fosters an appreciation of a true American form of music, the Blues.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That I, Timothy J. Mahoney, Mayor of the City of Fargo, do hereby proclaim August 15, 2015 as Dan Bredell Day in the City of Fargo, North Dakota.
