Mayoral Proclamation - Manufacturing Day - 10.07.2016

WHEREAS, Manufacturing makes a significant contribution to the national, state and local economy; and

WHEREAS, Advanced manufacturing technologies provide high-paying jobs for North Dakotans and a vital economic base for the state and community; and

WHEREAS, The manufacturing sector provides jobs, including careers such as engineers, computer programmers, mechanics, machine operators, information technology professionals, researchers, managers and many other individuals; and

WHEREAS, Local employers and schools are joining with the Greater Fargo Moorhead Economic Development Corporation to tour local manufacturing companies which exposes the future workforce to the excellent opportunities within the manufacturing industry; and

WHEREAS, These efforts will improve widespread understanding of the invaluable services and economic impact provided by manufacturing industries in Cass and Clay counties and around the country.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That I, Timothy J. Mahoney, Mayor of the City of Fargo, do hereby proclaim October 7, 2016, to be Manufacturing Day in the City of Fargo, North Dakota.
