"What Was So Great About the Great War?" Presentation October 16

Date: October 16, 2018

Time: 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Location: Main Library 102 3rd Street North Fargo, ND 58102 Get Directions

Join us for a presentation by John K. Cox, professor of modern East European History at NDSU. He will discuss how World War I threw most of the world off its rails. These 4 1/2 years of ferocious fighting internationalized new ideas and ideologies in modern ways that no one could have predicted. The tremendous death tolls and the collapse of four world empires represent only the starting point of the Great War's balance sheet. Dr. Cox received his PhD from Indiana University-Bloomington in 1995 and writes mostly on Serbia and other Balkan societies in the 20th century. No registration is required for this event. For details contact the Main Library Information Desk at 701.241.1492. This event is part of the 2018 One Book, One Community reading project.
Tuesday, Oct. 16 – Main Library at 7 p.m.
